Fire Safety & Prevention

The Fire Prevention Division is responsible for conducting fire and life safety inspections, pre-fire planning, and coordinating all of the fire and life safety programs for the South Lynches Fire Department. In addition, the Fire Prevention Division coordinates the following; annual fire hose testing, pressurized fire hydrant maintenance/testing, static water point maintenance/testing, and is responsible for maintaining the records for all of these items.

South Lynches Fire Department employs a full-time Fire Marshal to handle these duties on a daily basis. If you own/operate a business in our Fire District, the Fire Marshal may come by to conduct a fire inspection and a pre-plan of your building. Fire inspections identify fire code violations in an attempt to make the buildings in our fire district safer. Pre-Fire plans are conducted by the fire department to gain valuable information about the buildings in our fire district just in case we have to respond to an emergency at that building. The pre-plans include basic building information, closest water supply, building hazards/dangers, an aerial map (plot plan), a floor plan for each building, as well as other valuable building information.

South Lynches Fire Department conducts fire and life safety presentations for schools, churches, businesses, and other interested groups. We also have a smoke detector program where our department will come out and install smoke detectors in homes located in our Fire District. This program is based on availability of smoke detectors. If you are interested in any of the above, please contact our Fire Marshal or fill out our online request below.

Please check our Water Supply page for additional information.
